could any docters/pharmasists let me know names, dosage of anti sedatives?
when a person/ wild animal/pet was sedated,to bring him/her/it to back normal what are the drugs/medicines which cannot do harm, and their dosage?better smellies or injections?what care should be taken when working with them?
depends what was used to sedate them.
If benzodiazepines were used (things like valium, diazepam, lorazepam, midazolam) then you could use a reversal agent called flumazenil. In a normal 70kg adult, the normal dose would be 0.2 mg IV repeated every 5 minutes until desired effect. The administration of flumazenil may cause seizures in patients who have been taking benzodiazepines chronically (we're talking several months, not just a few days) but in otherwise normal patients it's very safe and has no dangerous effects even in very high doses. I don't know what dose you would use for animals- remember that depending on the species, the mg/kg dose may be totally different than humans. Also don't know if IM injections would be effective.
Narcotics such as fentanyl, morphine, or demerol can be reversed by naloxone- but I doubt you would be using narcotics to sedate animals. The respiratory depressant effects of narcotics has a high morbidity rate when used for sedation.
Other sedatives such as ketamine or pentothal don't have reversal agents and you must simply wait until their effects dissipate.
