My dog has bad separation anxiety! I have tried crate training, but he HATES his crate. How can I fix this?
He has to sleep in the bed with me, under the covers. Any time I leave he howls the whole time and defecates everywhere. There is another dog here with him. I have tried leaving and coming back in one minute with a treat to show him that everything is fine, but it doesn’t help. What do I do?
with the whole leaving and comeing back thing, its all about repetition, takes a lot of work, if you just put him in his crate and ignore him until he is quiet and then let him out and give him attention and tell him hes a good boy, and take him out to potty and play with him, then put him in the cage again and repeat the process and eventuall he will learn that if he is quiet and calm in the cage he will get love and attention. good luck
