Can an aggresive dog be fixed?
Has anyone had a dog who showed aggresive behavior had a behaviorist come in and actually fix the problem? I adoped a dog who was fine in the beginning but is now attacking other dogs and showing signs of doing it to people. We called for her to be put back in foster care but were told that they would pay for a behaviorist to come out and fix the problem. Has anyone had something similiar to this?
The only workable fix that I have found has been euthanasia. People aggression can be hard to fix and can be very expensive because of the liability. I would not put this dog back in foster care if she couldn't be rehabilitated. She and I would have the last vet visit. I'm surprised that a rescue would adopt an aggressive dog. This makes them liable too. I hope that they have good insurance.
